The variety was bred at the University of Davis in California by crossing between the Emperor and Nocera Hunisa varieties.

Grapes are very large, thick-skinned and very appealing to the eye due to its purplish red. Its cluster is cuneiform with long peduncle. It is uniform in colour and size of berries. They have a very pleasant fruity taste and fleshy flesh.

Due to its size they can be frozen and used in soft drinks.

This variety of grape is also known as red balloon, thick grape etc.

It is the most widespread variety among those that have recently been developed and has high durability and conservation in transportation.

They are grown in almost every continent so it's easy to find available during the 12 months of the year.

This grape is eaten fresh, dried for raisins and is widely used in grape juice.
